Geschiedenis van het hotel: Het Santa Fe Terminal Building #4, nu bekend als het Aloft Hotel, maakte deel uit van het Santa Fe-terminalcomplex dat werd gebouwd in 1923-25 en naar verluidt het toen grootste bouwproject van het land was. De enorme opgraving omvatte een ondergronds netwerk van spoorwegtunnels onder de vier gebouwen die de goederenoverslag en opslag van de Santa Fe Railway centraliseerden. Er werd zoveel beton gebruikt dat er tijdens de opgraving ter plaatse een betoncentrale werd gebouwd. Dit was een tijd waarin de spoorwegen domineerden en dit project hielp om van Dallas een belangrijk zakencentrum voor het zuidwesten te maken. Het nieuwe Aloft Hotel met 193 kamers werd al snel het vlaggenschip van Starwood's merk Aloft, opgericht als een zus van het merk W Hotels. Het is de enige Aloft tot nu toe die een historische rehabilitatie is in plaats van nieuwbouw. Het oude gerecyclede pakhuis leent zich perfect voor het loftthema en de hippe en stoere afwerkingen die door het merk worden gebruikt. Vooral dit hotel heeft een bijzondere aantrekkingskracht en trekt grote gasten aan, zoals Brittney Spears, Jamie Foxx, Dolph Lundgren, Eva Longoria, Willie Mays, LeBron James, Magic Johnson, de cast van Wicked, 101 Dalmatiërs en vele anderen.
