About us

The Hotel Svevia is situated in a privileged location in the centre of the town near the Old Town gates, with a free and comfortable parking lot. It’s few minutes from the main tourist attractions as the splendid Frederick II of Swabia Cathedral, the interesting Archaeological Museum and the shopping streets. It's also possible to organize business meetings in a pleasant meeting-room with a seating capacity of 60 persons. Altamura is usually chosen as the starting point for a longer stay in order to visit the Murgia Highlands and the nearby Basilicata, due to its strategic central position that permits an easy transfer to some of the main charming and famous nearby localities.

We continue the story and memories of our grandparents who taught us everything about our Sicilian and Neapolitan heritage. Growing up we understood our Italian heritage through them as people, their stories and by sharing, eating and cooking the dishes that they grew up with from their homeland and using the ingredients that our relatives would send to us in England from Sicily & Naples in small parcels. When our grandparents left us, it reinforced as a family that what they taught and shared with us is a huge part of our cultural identity, and we could not risk that heritage disappearing. Together as a family and working with other Sicilian families our passion is to give back to the land and work with like-minded young entrepreneurs, landowners and farmers in Sicily to keep this heritage and Sicilian traditions, which we all lovingly grew up with, alive.
