About us

Baslow Hall stands at the top of a winding chestnut-tree-lined driveway on the edge of the picturesque village of Baslow. Chatsworth Estate is within walking distance and the old market town of Bakewell only four miles away. Baslow is the perfect location to discover the beauty of the Peak District and some of the country’s finest stately homes. Max & Susan Fischer purchased this lovely house in 1988 as a fitting setting for their dream “Restaurant with Rooms”. The standard formal “Country House” approach to the interior was avoided, instead using their personal collection of furniture and pictures to give a homely feel. We endeavor to create an atmosphere of comfort and character where our guests can relax and be pampered, enjoy good food and wine, and return to their daily lives refreshed.

Over the past fifteen (15) years, we’ve grown from one (1) Thriller vessel to the current operation of three (3) Thriller Vessels, and one (1) Thriller Miami Hurricane that were built for Miami’s character, charm, and local culture. Open 7 days a week, 365 days a year. First tour departs at 11:00 am during the week, and 10:00 am during the weekend and holidays. Last tour depends on the sunset, which varies by season.
