It could be the moment you realize how important your grandfather’s factory job really was in building this great city. It could be the “That’s what I wanna do when I grow up” moment. We don’t know what your connection to Baltimore’s story is, but we do know one thing. This is where you’ll find it.

The U.S. is the world’s epicenter of beer innovation. American brewers excel at re-interpreting traditional styles and creating new ones. So, we decided it’s time to open our first stateside brewery since 1954. Our site in Baltimore will take everything we’ve learned in Ireland and up the ante with an experimental brewery, taproom, restaurant — and a barrel house, enabling us to experiment using our centuries-old expertise in aging beer in wood.

Fort McHenry
Fort McHenry
Museum
A national monument and historic shrine, Fort McHenry is perhaps the most popular tourist attraction in Baltimore – and for good reason. Built in 1798, the Fort was used continuously by U.S. armed forces through World War I, and by the Coast Guard in World War II. It is best known for its role in the War of 1812, when it successfully defended Baltimore Harbor from an attack by the British navy on Sept. 13-14, 1814. During that bombardment, a small flag that was flown over Fort McHenry was replaced early on the morning of September 14 with a larger garrison flag. The larger flag signaled American victory over the British in the Battle of Baltimore. The sight of this moment inspired Francis Scott Key to write the Star Spangled Banner, the national anthem of the United States.

Located along Key Highway in the Federal Hill neighborhood, the American Visionary Art Museum (AVAM) is America’s official national museum and education center for intuitive, self-taught artistry, also known as outsider or raw art. The 1.1 acre campus contains 67,000 square feet of exhibition space and permanent collection of approximately 4,000 pieces from an array of visionary artists. Staying true to its mission of art education, the museum takes an unorthodox approach to its shows, bringing in guest curators to organize them around themed exhibitions rather than specific artists or styles.
