We are proud to announce that we have received the Green Key certification, an esteemed eco-label for tourism and leisure establishments. This certification acknowledges our commitment to meeting a stringent set of environmental requirements, showcasing our dedication to operating in an environmentally friendly, sustainable, and socially responsible manner. It reflects our ongoing efforts to contribute positively to our surroundings and society as a whole. With the renovation of the hotel we have invested in our infrastructure and the hotel building and now qualified for the LEED Gold certificate. LEED is a globally recognized symbol of sustainability achievement, and provides a framework for healthy, efficient, carbon and cost-saving green buildings. Additionally, we achieved the “IHG Green Engage Level 4” showcasing our commitment to focus on our environmental impact. From water usage reduction programs to waste management, the preference to use biodegradable detergents & cleaning agents, a focus on energy efficiency activities to using mostly locally sourced food and bulk sized in room amenities we continue to make a positive impact. Together with our team we initiate community charity projects – such as the “Kältebus” – providing food for the homeless during Christmas - or clean up days around the local area.

The InterContinental Berlin has a CHP (combined heat and power plant) to generate energy and is using it in the hotel. The CHP is powered with natural gas.
