About us

On October 4, 2018, Maxime was given a new lease on life. The former cabaret of 1949, which once housed prestigious news agencies and became an icon of Lisbon’s nightlife at the turn of the century, today remains open to artists and to all those wishing to experience our city. We have reclaimed our past with the same bold ambition that once defined our predecessors. The old newsrooms now make way for 75 rooms, inviting new stories to unfold in a historic and intimate setting. And the renowned stage, which has witnessed the birth of so many talents, hasn’t dimmed its lights. Quite the opposite: it keeps them brightly alive, now the oldest and only cabaret in Lisbon. At the table, we indulge in the flavors of a nostalgic, old Lisbon, reflecting our regional gastronomy. Are we bold? Perhaps, but above all, we are genuinely proud of our past and open to what the future may hold.
