Marina Beach is a 12-acre sandy cove in the middle of town. It's nicknamed Mother's Beach because its location is sheltered from ocean waves, making it perfect for youngsters to wade in. The grounds also offer a small playground and ample picnic tables under a pavilion. The calm water is also a choice destination for stand-up paddleboard lessons and paddleboard yoga classes - both of which are offered year-round. Beach Use Permits for large gatherings may be obtained from L.A. County Department of Beaches and Harbors. Some groups choose to coordinate large events/catering through nearby hotels.
