Why Choose Our Destination?

A visit to Aruba is all it takes to understand why we are called the One Happy Island. Unending days of blissful sunshine sparkling off vividly clear turquoise waters, sugar-white beaches, and the warm and inviting hospitality of our people will put a smile on anyone’s face! Aruba boasts top-notch resorts and amenities that cater to groups large and small with unique and traditional venues for meetings and events. Those who enjoy active pursuits can hit the greens on two challenging world-class golf courses, set sail for a day of cruising and snorkeling the calm waters of our coastline, explore the rugged beauty of our countryside by Jeep or horseback, or even learn to windsurf in a day at our famous Fisherman’s Huts. A day of marathon shopping with some of the world’s top designers and retailers can be had in the downtown Oranjestad shopping district and at several plazas and malls open until late in the evening in Palm Beach. Aruba’s cultural heritage is abundantly accessible with art galleries and museums to tour, as well as various music, food, and art festivals taking place throughout the year. And, of course, those with pure relaxation in mind have miles of pristine, award-winning beaches to enjoy. Afternoons spent lounging under the shade of a palapa, with cooling trade winds blowing and frozen drink in-hand, will surely ease the everyday stresses of life! After the sun sets, the Island takes on a new energy. Culinary adventures abound, with some of the top-rated restaurants in the Caribbean located here on Aruba. The Island is home to more than 70 nationalities, and our restaurants represent a variety of international cuisines as well as our local cuisine.

Island Tours
Island Tours
This is a great way to navigate the island in a single day without a map! You are now part of a jeep tour "wagon train" that will often contain 10 or more four wheel drive vehicles, consisting of Jeeps and Land Rovers. Organized jeep tours often stop at the California Lighthouse, charming Alto Vista chapel, Seroe Crystal, the Bushiribana gold mill ruins, famous Natural Bridge, through the back roads to the Guadirikiri caves and finishing off on a private island that is located just a five minute ferry boat ride from the main land.
Arikok National Park
Arikok National Park
The Arikok National Park land area encompasses the three primary geological formations that shape the island of Aruba: the Aruba lava formation, a quartz diorite formation and a limestone formation extending inward from the coastline. These formations have played an important role, not only in supporting unique, indigenous plants and wildlife, but by influencing historic human settlement and activity patterns on the island. The rock outcrops, boulders and crevices between the various formations create micro-climactic conditions that support unique examples of indigenous flora and fauna. As a result, the park is the habitat of several animal species found only in Aruba including two snake species: the cascabel, Crotalus thurissus uni-color (Aruba island's rattlesnake) and the santanero, Leptodira bakeri (Aruba cat-eyed snake); the kododo blauw, Cnemido- phorus arubensus (Aruban whiptail lizard); and two bird species: the shoco, Athene cunicu- laria arubensis (Aruban burrowing owl) and the prikichi, Aratinga pertinax arubensis (Aruban parakeet).
