Santa Pola is a small touristic fishing village with some 30.000 inhabitants and an area of 58,02 km2 and an altitude of 6m. It is situated in the south of the Alicante province forming part of the Baix Vinalopo area together with Elche and Crevillente. There are three basic elements to Santa Pola’s physical features: the “Sierra” of Santa Pola, a varied morphology on the coast from cliffs to the sandy beaches, passing fossil dunes and the salt lakes, named Nature reserve with high ecological and faunistic values.
