The tick of a clock, the creak of a leather armchair, the scent of wood fires in winter and freshly mowed lawns in the summer, Bartley Lodge Hotel near Lyndhurst in the New Forest is the perfect place to unwind and reconnect. Meander down our woodland drive before it opens out to reveal our stately, Grade II listed manor, settled in eight tranquil acres of landscaped grounds. The historic home of the celebrated Victorian ‘father of geology’, Charles Lyell, Bartley Lodge features soothing bedrooms with sumptuous linens, power showers and a menu bursting with classic and contemporary dishes made from the finest local produce. Our sitting rooms have endless cosy nooks and corners with squashy sofas and armchairs, where you can relax with a drink or a coffee or catch up on a good book. Whether you’re coming for a short break, a weekend, or a pre-cruise stopover, we have everything to ensure you can take it easy; from our eight acres of landscaped grounds (with the odd, New Forest pony occasionally showing up!) as well as an enormous stone terrace with plenty of seating and a pristine indoor swimming pool. And, when it’s time to celebrate, our unique entertainment spaces mean we’re the ideal venue for your big event; from weddings to receptions and birthday or anniversary parties, to corporate occasions and meetings too.
