The Tarragona Cathedral is a jewel of Catalan heritage, with walls that hold a history of over 2,000 years. The imposing central nave of the basilica, a Romanesque-style church, surprises with its brightness, and the impressive rose window of the main facade stands out, along with the magnificent Renaissance organ and the detailed Gothic altarpiece of the high altar. And we cannot forget the cloister, a true haven of peace.

The amphitheater was a venue for spectacles, including wild beast fights, hunts, public executions, and gladiator combats. The one in Tarraco was built in the early 2nd century AD and underwent renovations in 221, as indicated by the 140-meter inscription, the longest in the entire Empire, which crowned the podium. Today, part of the northern seating carved into the rock is still preserved, though it is heavily eroded, and part of the southern seating, supported by concrete vaults. Here, in 259 AD, Saint Fructuosus and his deacons were martyred. To commemorate this, a Visigothic basilica was built at the end of the 6th century, over which the medieval church of Santa María del Milagro was established in the 12th century.
