About us

This tuna fishery dating from the 1600’s now houses a delightful hotel - Tonnara di Bonagia and the complex covers the entire area of the historical fishing village, immortalizing its original charm thanks to the careful renovations that have been carried out. Within the FH Tonnara di Bonagia Resort guests will find traditional workshops offering crafts and local culinary specialties. It offers 102 guest rooms including 11 suites for your perfect stay. The “Marfaraggio” conference centre is housed in the old building that was once used to shelter the tuna fishing boats and with the “Salone Marfaraggio”, the “Circolo dei Pescatori” and the “Portico della Mattanza” it can cater for up to 400. A large outdoor area is also available for events.

We continue the story and memories of our grandparents who taught us everything about our Sicilian and Neapolitan heritage. Growing up we understood our Italian heritage through them as people, their stories and by sharing, eating and cooking the dishes that they grew up with from their homeland and using the ingredients that our relatives would send to us in England from Sicily & Naples in small parcels. When our grandparents left us, it reinforced as a family that what they taught and shared with us is a huge part of our cultural identity, and we could not risk that heritage disappearing. Together as a family and working with other Sicilian families our passion is to give back to the land and work with like-minded young entrepreneurs, landowners and farmers in Sicily to keep this heritage and Sicilian traditions, which we all lovingly grew up with, alive.
