Les Garrigues, con 20.350 habitantes (2008) y 799,71 kilómetros cuadrados, limita al norte con Segria, Pla d'Urgell y Urgell, al sur con el Priorat, al este con la Conca de Barberá, mientras que al oeste limita con la región de Ribera d'Ebre de Tarragona. La cocina de Garrigues ofrece una amplia variedad de platos en los que el aceite de oliva virgen extra elaborado en la región es el ingrediente principal. El Consell Comarcal de les Garrigues, junto con los restaurantes de la región, organiza la Mostra Gastronomica de les Garrigues (Semanas Gastronómicas de las Garrigues), que normalmente se celebra en noviembre de cada año. Mostra Gastronomica de les Garrigues ayuda a introducir y promover la cocina típica de nuestra región, así como el sabor tan especial que el aceite de oliva aporta a nuestros platos.
