The Plough at Lupton ha estado en su lugar desde 1760, más tiempo que algunos, si no tanto, como otros, y el Inn ofrecía a los viajeros una parada de descanso, justo antes de la autopista de peaje de Cow Brow. Ahora tenemos 5 habitaciones y suites clásicas de lujo que llevan el nombre de los antiguos terratenientes de Lupton (Lupeton) que datan de «Torsin» en la encuesta de Domesday de 1058 dirigida a Sir Richard Musgrave en 1681.
