Y el 27 de diciembre de 1966, la ciudad de Antibes vuelve a rendir homenaje a Pablo Picasso y el castillo Grimaldi se convierte oficialmente en el Museo Picasso, el primer museo dedicado al artista. Finalmente, en 1991, la fundación Jacqueline Picasso autoriza un mayor enriquecimiento de las colecciones de Picasso.
