Forma parte del paseo de Abandoibarra, el punto central de la transformación de la ciudad, junto al Palacio de Congresos Euskalduna y el Museo Guggenheim. La visita al museo se organiza en torno a 2 espacios: el exterior y el interior. Esta última, con sus 7.000 m2, presenta una arquitectura excepcional. Ubicado bajo la rotonda del puente Euskalduna, es un ejemplo de adaptación al entorno. Las columnas sostienen la carretera, que sirve como techo de esta estructura única. Hay 7 espacios que son ideales para reuniones y conferencias.
