Construido en 1979, el Metropolitan Hotel original era famoso por ser uno de los primeros hoteles de Dubái y una institución en sí mismo. «The Met», como se le conoció cariñosamente, reinó como un preciado «hogar lejos del hogar» entre los huéspedes locales e internacionales durante más de 20 años. En 2013, el Metropolitan Hotel Dubai cerró sus puertas para dar paso a la ciudad de Al Habtoor, lo que supuso el fin de una era. El presidente del grupo hizo una firme promesa a sus leales huéspedes de reactivar la propiedad en los próximos años. Fiel a su palabra, en 2016 se inaugura un Metropolitan Dubai elevado y renovado, que ofrece a los huéspedes la oportunidad de vivir un nuevo capítulo en el legado de un hotel que se encuentra verdaderamente en el corazón de Dubái.
