The Movenpick Hotel Mansour Eddahbi & Palais des Congres Marrakech will benefit from 503 rooms and suites and also have many recreational facilities including four swimming pools (one dedicated to children), a spa, a fitness center, six restaurants & bars and a nightclub. A dedicated entrance will connect the hotel to the largest convention center of Morocco, the famous Palais des Congrès also operated by Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts. Many functional spaces will be offered with more than 5,600 square meters, with 2700 m² of exhibition halls, two auditoriums up to 1500 guests and many breakout rooms. The Hotel will immediately become an icon within the "Red City" of Marrakech as visitors will find a new face within this fascinating ancient Berber city.

Situated in the northeast of the medina, the tanneries cannot be missed. With an overwhelming smell and many invitations from people in the streets, you’ll easily find your way to the tanneries. A perfect place to watch just how all the treasures you find in the markets of the old medina are made. Everything from bags to dresses are born here, and visitors can watch workers are they hand dye material in preparation for trade in the city. Virtually an outdoor museum demonstrating an alternative to the modern factories, the tanneries are an intriguing feast for all the senses.

These tombs were created to stand as the final resting place of the many rulers and members of the Saadi dynasty. Rich in history, the Saadian tombs were rediscovered in 1917 after having been sealed up for centuries. Magnificently decorated with bright tiles, Arabic calligraphy, and intricate carvings, Saadian Sultan Ahmed al-Mansour ed-Dahbi certainly spared no expense on his tomb, making for a beautiful site for tourists. Located just outside of Marrakech, the tombs are easy to reach, and a fantastic alternative to the bustling city. Carefully restored and well preserved, they now stand as one of the most popular things to see in Morocco.

The minaret of the Koutoubia Mosque, Marrakech’s most famous symbol – built in a traditional Almohad style and topped with four copper globes – is visible from near and far. It’s not really that high (77 metres), but thanks to local topography and a local ordinance that forbids any other building in the Medina to be higher than a palm tree, it towers majestically over its surroundings. It’s still an active place of worship, and non-Muslims may not enter. But it’s possible to get a good view of the exterior by walking around either side.

The Jemaa el Fna place in the middle of the Medina has been classified as World Heritage site by Unesco in 2001. The two main routes into their heart are rue Semarine (aka Souk Semarine) and rue Mouassine; the former offers the more full-on blast of bazaar, the latter is a more sedate path leading to choice boutiques. Every section has its own speciality: carpets and textiles; woollen hats and cooked snails; spices and magic supplies; cotton, clothing, kaftans and blankets – and most importantly raffia bags and baskets, which you’ll need to carry all your purchases in.
