New Program Road to Net Zero Events. In collaboration with Creast, a company specialized on measurement and reduction, we have developed a state-of-the-art technology, to calculate the emissions of carbon footprint of every event we host in the selected MICE hotels, by measuring the energy consumption in guest rooms and meeting rooms, the menu ingredients of menus chosen and other items, helping our clients make more responsible decisions. Our goal is to create events that not only inspire and connect, but also contribute to a greener planet. Therefore, if your event is confirmed, we will work collectively to make it carbon neutral, either through your company´s offset program, or through Meliá´s "The Planet We Love" project, with credit certified by the United Nations.

At Meliá Hotels, we do not have one single use plastics

We are using innovative technology to make us more efficient, we are committed to using clean energy, and since 2007 we have had an environmental and energy management system (SAVE) that has allowed us to significantly reduce consumption. The SAVE programme allows us to measure consumption and detect opportunities for improvement in all our owned, leased and managed hotels. The CO2PERATE project helps us to optimise energy use in air - conditioning systems with the assistance of artificial intelligence. We use technology to predict the flow of people and the capacity of our spaces to adjust energy use .
