El ayuntamiento de Skipton se construyó en 1862, en el sitio de la antigua iglesia de la vicaría de la Santísima Trinidad. La sala principal se modificó, aumentando su altura, en 1878 y una empresa privada la administró como sala de actos pública. El Ayuntamiento de Skipton tiene cinco habitaciones disponibles para alquilar. Cuando se creó el Consejo del Distrito Urbano de Skipton en 1895, compró el edificio para que fuera el Ayuntamiento, en sustitución del «Antiguo Ayuntamiento» de Sheep Street. A finales del siglo XIX, se añadió un toldo de vidrio y hierro forjado adornado en la parte delantera, pero fue demolido durante la década de 1950. En 1935 se construyó una ampliación para aumentar el espacio de oficinas.
