Shonalanga Lodge was established in 1995, a time remembered by all South Africans as it was the same year the Springboks won the Rugby World Cup hosted here in South Africa - then Shonalanga Lodge consisted of 26 rooms and a dining hall. Since 1995 Shonalanga Lodge has expanded, and today it consists of 41 rooms, a luxurious dining hall and conference facilities which can accommodate up to 30 people. Shonalanga Lodge remains a popular lodge to stay at in Vryheid because of its clean rooms, hearty breakfast, competitive room rates and free wifi. Even though Vryheid is a very safe town with lovely residents, we have taken extra care to ensure your safety. Therefore, our property is surrounded by high walls and the entrance to the lodge is controlled by an electric gate and manned by a security guard throughout the night.
