Additional Information

Enjoy special events and summer-long free outdoor entertainment including folk musicians, string quartet, big bands and more. Beginning with Jazz Fest held each May and continuing through the holiday season's "Catch the Glow" celebration, there are special events in Estes Park year-round. The Stanley Hotel and Estes Adventures have partnered together to offer you a variety of outdoor adventures for all seasons. Now you can build your own Adventure Packages and enjoy the comfort and convenience of The Historic Stanley Hotel, as well as all that Estes Park has to offer! Nestled in the stunning Rocky Mountains in Estes Park is the majestic Stanley Hotel. Completed in 1909 by Freelan Oscar Stanley, the hotel was originally a destination for the wealthy to “summer” in the mountains. F. O. and his wife Flora hailed from Kingfield, Maine. F. O., along with his identical twin brother, Francis Edgar, made their initial fortune by marketing the new dry plate photography process. It shortened the development process from thirty minutes to one. This wealth afforded the brothers the opportunity to use their creativity to manufacture the Stanley Steamer, a more powerful steam car.
