The BCC continues to be a leader in the sustainability space, including a 27,000-square foot green roof and diverting 150 tons of materials annually from landfills through their Diversion by Donation program.

Waterfront Partnership’s Healthy Harbor Initiative works to restore and protect our city’s most valuable asset—the Baltimore harbor. Restoration initiatives such as the great oyster partnership and frequent water quality monitoring have made the harbor swimmable and fishable—a feat celebrated through a Harbor Splash that saw the mayor and more than 150 Baltimore residents jump into the water. Mr. Trash Wheel, a semiautonomous trash interceptor, is on the job keeping our harbor clean by collecting t approximately 500 tons of trash and debris each year.
