Known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, the large canyon approximately 10 miles long and up to 3000 feet deep is located on the western side of Kauai. Waimea is Hawaiian for Reddish water, a reference to the erosion of the canyon's red soil. The Canyon was formed by a deep incision of the Waimea River arising from the extreme rainfall on the island's central peak, Mount Wai`ale`ale, earning it's distinction as one of the wettest places on earth.

In addition, there is 2,600 sq. ft. of oceanfront lawn space that may be considered. In September 2021, the hotel opened a brand new, open air pavilion, offering over 4,000 sq. ft. of event space. This pavilion is located steps away from the beach with stunning ocean views.
