Owned by Villa d’Este Hotels Group and member of The Leading Hotels of the World, this fascinating Medicean Villa enjoys an enviable location on the banks of the Arno River in the heart of the Tuscan countryside. Villa La Massa is the perfect place to rest after a long day of touring in Florence, linked by the hotel’s private shuttle service which runs daily to and from Ponte Vecchio. The hotel features 54 rooms, divided among six historic buildings: the Villa Nobile, the Mill, the Villino, the Casa Colonica, the Limonaia and Villa Hombert. The spirit of the Renaissance is still palpable in the first two villas decorated with sublime canopied beds, frescoes and tapestries, silks and brocades, while the other three are beautifully furnished in a more contemporary Florentine style. The gourmet restaurant “Il Verrocchio”, open for dinner, offers the traditional Italian fine cuisine with over 400 labels of wine; its terrace overlooking the Arno River is a unique setting for romantic dinners. Overlooking the pool area L'Oliveto bistrot is a new culinary offering which is open for lunch. Named after surrounding olive trees, which are used to produce the hotel’s own olive oil, L’Oliveto occupies a former barn, which has been lovingly restored to offer relaxed Tuscan dining. Situated in the Noble Villa, the Medicean Bar offers a wide selection of grappe (Italian eau-de-vie), whiskies, brandies and cocktails. The 15th century cellar, located in the Mill is the perfect backdrop for business lunches and dinners or wine-tastings. For those looking for a full day of relax, a brand new stylish swimming pool surrounded by fragrant olive groves and Cypress trees and a modern fitness centre. The Arno SPA is a warm and informal welcome in an original Tuscan atmosphere, combining heritage with luxurious comfort. Inspired by the Tuscan fragrant flowers and aromatic herbs of the Villa La Massa gardens, the “Officina Profumo Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella” cosmetic line is available for treatments The elegance and intimacy of Villa La Massa makes it the ideal location for small and prestigious meetings up to 100 people. Guests can enjoy the tranquility of the bucolic country life and the taste of a bygone Era but with all comforts of modern facilities. The Corsini Room is located in the Mill, right next to the restaurant Il Verrocchio. It is ideal for hosting meetings, gala dinners, private parties, cocktails and wedding receptions in the charming atmosphere of the Chianti hills, on the banks of the Arno River. The room is divided into two areas: - Corsini A is more intimate and features large floor-to-ceiling windows providing direct access to the garden. - Corsini B is wider and its columns, furniture, coffered ceiling and antique fireplace perfectly respect Villa La Massa’s Renaissance ambiance. Both rooms are immersed in the amber light of the Tuscan countryside which floods in from the wide windows directly overlooking the Hotel’s gardens. A cozy chapel with a 19th century sacristy can hold ceremonies for a maximum of thirty/fourty people with the possibility to celebrate vows renewals and weddings. Villa La Massa can be rented on exclusive basis for private events.

The Chianti area in Tuscany is one of the most beautiful in the whole region, as well as the most well-known and appreciated by visitors from across the world. The borders of the Chianti region are not clearly defined but in general it extends over the provinces of Florence and Siena, covering all of the area between the two cities and extending to the east toward the Valdarno and to the west to the Val d'Elsa. The Chianti wine area extends further beyond the two cities, all around Florence and even toward Arezzo, Pistoia and Montepulciano. You'll often find references to the "Florentine Chianti" and the "Sienese Chianti" to define the areas closest to one or the other city, but these often refer to a wine's origin within the Chianti region.
