The Pestana Miramar is one of the most charismatic hotels in Madeira, its construction being based around the elegant Miramar Hotel, a manor house of the 1920s. Special care was taken in the architectural design so it would blend into the landscape. This hotel in Madeira combines modern and classical elements, creating a unique environment. The new buildings were constructed in a rustic style, using terracotta tiles and having balconies with the traditional balustrades of the region, surrounded by tropical gardens of about 5000 m2, which won the Funchal "City of Flowers" Award. Due to its proximity to other Pestana Hotels, particularly the Pestana Village and the Pestana Carlton Madeira, there are shared services. Private access to the sea is possible for guests at the Pestana Carlton Hotel, and guests may use the health club of the Pestana Village, with gymnasium, sauna, Turkish bath and Jacuzzi. There are also 2 outdoor pools (one heated with solar pannels). Prize winning gardens, which won the Funchal "City of Flowers" Award. The property offers five restaurants with varied cuisines and themes, and three bars. The Pestana Miramar Aparthotel has 45 studios, 9 junior suites, equipped with kitchenette, air conditioning and private bath with bathtub, and 4 executive suites located in the 1920s House "Quinta Miramar". The Hotel is only at a 15-minute walk to the centre of the city and about 20 minutes by car to the Funchal International Airport.
