The Mackay Entertainment & Convention Center (MECC) is located in the heart of Mackay and is just a short stroll away from a plethora of City Centre restaurants, an award-winning Regional Art Gallery, hotels, a library, shopping precincts and our magnificent blue water Pioneer River. The Center is easily accessible via foot, car, bike or bus and approximately 10 minutes via taxi from the Mackay Airport. Within walking distance are 500+ four star and above rooms. The Mackay Entertainment & Convention Centre (MECC) is a purpose built venue, catering for a broad range of events, including meetings, conferences, product launches, award dinners and exhibitions. With banquet style seating for up to 800 guests and award-winning catering. Hot summers and mild, sunny winters mean great weather for events. Excellent aviation, road and rail access – more than 60 flights weekly and just 1.5 hours from Brisbane by air. Find viewing decks at Broken River, where you can spot this shy creature, as well as turtles and other wildlife. The best times to see this special monotreme is at dawn or dusk.
