Clift in February 1915, the hotel has been an ever-evolving classic, drawing guests from all over the world. In 2023, after an extensive renovation, guests will be welcomed by sophisticated and modern changes signifying a reawakening of the hotel’s original craftsmanship fused with modern day San Francisco. The updated ambiance will engage traditional touches while enveloping the beauty of the City by the Bay. The iconic Redwood Room has been polished and refreshed, preserving its storied history and seductive ambiance. Other updates include the introduction of a new eatery and café; newly renovated function space to include a light-filled general session space with soaring two-story, floor-to-ceiling windows; and completion of the façade work on the exterior of the building.
