One of the most special aspects of a tour of the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum is the rare dioramas depicting the lives of indigenous people and locals. It's been open since 1939 and visitors to this day are awe-inspired by the large frescos painted on the front of the building. The museum also houses a rare collection of Caddo Indian artifacts. The Caddo Indians occupied Shreveport prior to its founding by Captain Henry Miller Shreve. It is also north Louisiana's only Smithsonian-affiliated museum.
