Stepping inside the Great Hall, uncover scandalous stories behind National Portrait Gallery paintings and reveal your inner Georgian with costumes and virtual portraits. Or just bring a rug and enjoy a cream tea on the cherry tree lawn, watching clouds drift by. Beningbrough Hall, a venue with a sense of occasion all of its own, can accommodate wedding and civil partnership ceremonies, followed by a champagne and canapé reception. The Hall is an elegant yet intimate Georgian country house, dating to 1716. It is surrounded by beautiful gardens and extensive parkland. A Beningbrough wedding includes the hire and exclusive use of the Great Hall, which can accommodate up to 80 people at your ceremony. The rest of the day can be tailor-made to suit your requirements, with options such as musicians to play for you and your guests and a champagne and canapé reception served in the Victorian Conservatory. Our catering partners can also provide a full wedding breakfast in our restaurant. We are available for weddings throughout the year and can also cater for your corporate events and other occasions.

The only way to find out about it was via word of mouth. No address was given, the only clue being a sign placed in the window, “Cocktails Here”. A lot of people thought it was pretty cool, even before The New York Times wrote about it. But that was all pre-pandemic, and this is a new era.
