La mission du Jardin botanique d'Atlanta est de développer et de maintenir des collections de plantes à des fins d'exposition, d'éducation, de recherche, de conservation et de divertissement. Le jardin contient plusieurs paysages différents pour exposer une variété de plantes. Près de l'entrée se trouvent des jardins à la française, tels que le jardin japonais et la roseraie. Deux zones boisées, l'Upper Woodland de 5 acres et la forêt Storza de 10 acres, abritent de grands arbres, des fleurs et des sous-bois qui aiment l'ombre. Le jardin des enfants présente des sculptures fantaisistes, des fontaines et des expositions d'interprétation sur la botanique, l'écologie et la nutrition.
