Pourquoi choisir notre destination ?
Hier, Barbizon était un immense hameau de menuisiers. Mais avec l'arrivée de Corot, Rousseau, Millet et Diaz de la Pena, elle est devenue, entre 1830 et 1870, le théâtre de la révolution de la peinture moderne.
On les appelle les « coloristes », les « paysagistes ». Ils sont arrivés à pied de Chailly à Barbizon où le couple Ganne les a accueillis dans leur auberge pour devenir le point de rencontre de tous les artistes. Les peintres aimaient tout dans le village : la lumière dans les sous-bois, les couleurs sombres des grands arbres, les nuages orageux, la saison ou les changements quotidiens de la nature Chevalet au dos, ils sont sortis de leurs études en courant et se sont dirigés vers la plaine ou la forêt, surprenant la nature « à la maison ».
Aujourd'hui, Barbizon, « haut lieu de l'écologie de l'époque », a conservé son charme avec ses maisons en pierre et en lierre, ses jardins parsemés de roses et demeure le « village des peintres », des peintres de tous les temps.

Who doesn’t enjoy traveling, movies, music, games, and room escape challenges? We figured if we’d have fun building and testing these Tourist Scavenger Hunts, you would also enjoy doing them. This new way of discovering a city via a walking tour with various challenges is a great way to learn about its history and discover its layout.
Simple And Fun
Each Tourist Scavenger Hunt is around 40 steps, 2-3 hours in duration on a 3-4km circuit which brings you back to the start.
