Il fait partie de la promenade Abandoibarra, point central de la transformation de la ville, à côté du centre de conférences Euskalduna et du musée Guggenheim. La visite du musée s'organise autour de 2 espaces : l'extérieur et l'espace intérieur. Ce dernier, avec ses 7 000 m2, présente une architecture exceptionnelle. Situé sous le rond-point du pont Euskalduna, il constitue un exemple d'adaptation à l'environnement. Les colonnes soutiennent la route, qui sert de toit à cette structure unique. Les 7 espaces sont idéaux pour les réunions et les conférences.
