Histoire de l'hôtel : Le terminal de Santa Fe #4, aujourd'hui connu sous le nom d'hôtel Aloft, faisait partie du complexe terminal de Santa Fe construit en 1923-1925, considéré comme le plus grand projet de construction du pays à l'époque. L'excavation massive comprenait un réseau souterrain de tunnels ferroviaires sous les quatre bâtiments qui centralisaient les opérations de transfert et d'entreposage des marchandises du chemin de fer de Santa Fe. Une telle quantité de béton a été utilisée qu'une centrale à béton a été créée sur place en pleine excavation. À cette époque, les chemins de fer étaient dominants et ce projet a contribué à faire de Dallas un centre d'affaires majeur du sud-ouest. Le nouvel hôtel Aloft de 193 chambres est rapidement devenu le fleuron de la marque Aloft de Starwood, créée en tant que sœur de la marque W Hotels. C'est le seul Aloft à ce jour qui constitue une réhabilitation historique par opposition à une nouvelle construction. L'ancien entrepôt recyclé se prête parfaitement au thème du loft et aux finitions branchées et avant-gardistes de la marque. Cet hôtel bénéficie d'un attrait particulier qui attire des clients de renom tels que Brittney Spears, Jamie Foxx, Dolph Lundgren, Eva Longoria, Willie Mays, LeBron James, Magic Johnson, les acteurs de Wicked, 101 Dalmatians et bien d'autres.
