Protected by acres of stupendous greenery, Lisdonagh House is an early Georgian Manor with breathtaking views over its own private Lake Hackett. Dating back to 1720, this stunning country manor of classical proportions is located in Co. Galway in the West of Ireland. Nestled on a private and exclusive 200 acres of undulating Irish countryside dotted with beautiful woodlands and a glittering lake, The House is a place of enchantment, waiting to be discovered. The overlapping Beech tree lined avenue heralds your arrival to Lisdonagh House and Connemara ponies graze in the front fields to greet you on your onset. The magnificent Lake Hackett with its unique and historical crannog is mesmerizing and ever changing. Situated in Headford, a mere short 20 minutes from Galway city, Lisdonagh House, full of character and personality is the perfect Irish rural escape. A truly private and stunningly beautiful estate, it offers a magical setting in which to respite and is a world apart offering the discerning visitor tranquility, exclusivity and privacy. Its opulent yet comfortable drawing room features an open log fire and period furniture with wonderful views of the garden, surrounding parkland and our private lake. The ambiance is quiet and relaxing, perfect for reading a book, enjoying afternoon tea or partaking in pre dinner drinks. Its oval entrance hall showcases original hand painted murals by J Ryan dating from 1790. These unique murals depict Strength, Chastity, Vanity and Justice and are the last remaining record of the artist’s work. There are 9 individually designed bedrooms in Lisdonagh House. Each bedroom has been named after a prominent Irish Artist with four suites offering superb lake views. Each guestroom offers period furnishings. They are havens for sleeping and dreaming. Also, an exceptionally private and stunningly beautiful estate in the Irish countryside, Lisdonagh House is a magical setting for Small and Intimate Weddings. This unique wedding venue in Ireland has a character and charm that can only be felt not described; therefore we invite you to come and experience it for yourself and look forward to welcoming you to Lisdonagh House for a personal tour so you can sample our renowned hospitality. You can enjoy exclusive use of the estate with your family and friends, and make the most of what our beautiful location has to offer for a minimum of two nights. It becomes your own home to share your precious moments that will last a life time. Its Dining Room which overlooks Lough Hackett can accommodate a maximum of 30 guests. A gourmet 5 course set menu is served for the Wedding Banquet. A lighter more informal 2 course supper is served the evening before.
