Les Garrigues, qui compte 20 350 habitants (2008) et 799,71 kilomètres carrés, sont délimitées au nord par Segria, Pla d'Urgell et Urgell, au sud par le Priorat, à l'est par Conca de Barbera, tandis qu'à l'ouest est limitée par la région de Ribera d'Ebre à Tarragone. Le Consell Comarcal de les Garrigues, en collaboration avec les restaurants de la région, organise la Mostra Gastronomica de les Garrigues (Semaines gastronomiques des Garrigues), qui se tient généralement en novembre de chaque année. La Mostra Gastronomica de les Garrigues contribue à faire connaître et à promouvoir la cuisine typique de notre région ainsi que le goût si particulier de l'huile d'olive confère à nos plats.
