Une taxe de séjour sera facturée à Majorque et sur les îles voisines de Minorque, Ibiza et Formentera, à compter du 1er juillet 2016. Cette taxe est destinée à la protection de l'environnement et du paysage, à la préservation du patrimoine historique et culturel des îles et à l'investissement dans les infrastructures touristiques. Le montant est basé sur le type d'hébergement, environ 1,50€ pour les séjours de haute saison (du 1er mai au 31 octobre). Les séjours en dehors des heures de pointe (du 1er novembre au 30 avril), ainsi qu'à partir du 9e jour de séjour, sont réduits de 50 %. Les enfants de moins de 16 ans sont exemptés. La taxe sera indiquée sur la facture de l'hôtel à l'arrivée ou au départ et répercutée au Revenue Service.
