Centrally located in the original part of Fira, in a quiet corner of this lively town, between the Greek Orthodox cathedral and the unique Museum of Prehistoric Thera, it is in walking distance of restaurants, boutiques, galleries and the exciting nightlife. Literally a few steps beyond the hotel entrance is the caldera rim, offering magnificent views of the cliff face and the volcano, especially at sunset. Recently entirely renovated (2007-2008), 48 elegant guest rooms decorated in warm earth tones, enhanced by satin-finish wooden furniture and a hint of opulence in the fabrics of curtains and bedspreads. The Aressana strives to provide every amenity and refinement expected of a De Luxe Category hotel. The public areas of the hotel were totally redesigned in winter 2007-2008 by leading Greek architect Dimitris Tsitsos. The distinctive eclectic minimalism creates a calm relaxing ambience, conducive to a feeling of well-being. Standard room facilities include private balcony or patio, air-conditioning/heating, electronic safety deposit box, direct-dial telephone, well-stocked complimentary minibar and home-made sweet upon arrival, satellite television with LCD flat screen, turn-down service. The bathrooms feature full-size bathtub, or shower, rain-shower head, ultra-modern washbasin, hansgrohe taps, hairdryer and shaver plug. Quality bathrobes and slippers are provided for guests’ convenience, as well as complimentary luxury toiletries. New additions to the Aressana are the superbly appointed Tefsion Kallos Spa, offering beauty treatments attuned to Santorini, and the Fitness Centre with its state of the art equipment. Including 2 treatment cabins, a relaxation room with a steam room, Jacuzzi, and the thermal relaxing beds. Just enjoy moments of pure relaxation! Savor the delicious Aressana Breakfast Buffet! The opulent homemade breakfast buffet with International and Santorinian specialties is served adjacent the swimming pool between 08:00 – 11:00 AM. The Ifestioni restaurant in cool turquoise and white opens onto the Pool Deck. The spacious Lobby in its post-modernity alludes to the environment of Santorini, with its scintillating grey stone floor, petrified tree trunks, and inviting cream and black sofas suggestive of sea pebbles. The sleek lines of the Reception Desk contrast with the copy of the Late Bronze Age wall-painting behind it. A sea-blue stucco veneziano wall, complemented by paintings by Christoforos Asimis, is the backdrop for a stunning metal table with computers for free wireless Internet access. The Main Lobby Bar with its discreet Venetian mirrors fills one side of the TV corner with giant flat screen. Adjacent to it is the unusual fireplace with a Kipris mural sculpture of a silvery shoal of fish on the black chimneybreast. The Lounge Terrace with its love beds, rattan settees and armchairs, is the perfect place for morning coffee or pre-dinner cocktails facing the sunrise and the East island sea side. The beautifully proportioned fresh-water Swimming Pool, the heart of the Lower Level, is renewed continuously through the cascade of murmuring running water. Edged with pisazza mosaic and stone tiles evocative of volcanic lava, it has installations for hydro massage and chromatotherapy. Amply provided with loungers and curtained divans, the poolside is a suntrap during the day, while at night the changing colors of the water create a phantasmagoric effect. The Snack Pool Bar serves light gourmet and Santorini specialties.
