Once upon a time in 2016, Matt Levy, founder of Covert Cocktail Club, hosted a secret speakeasy as an intimate place for strangers to gather in his home. The only way to find out about it was via word of mouth. No address was given, the only clue being a sign placed in the window, “Cocktails Here”. A lot of people thought it was pretty cool, even before The New York Times wrote about it. But that was all pre-pandemic, and this is a new era. Liberated from the confines of a single location, Covert Cocktail Club now brings the speakeasy right to your door—be it at your home, office, bar mitzvah, dinner party, bachelor/ette party or anywhere you choose!

In 2007, best friends Jonathan Bricklin and Franck Raharinosy had a crazy idea—to practice ping pong night and day and get so good that they could make the USA Olympic Team. So, they got busy doing what any future Olympians would do—throwing a weekly ping pong party! Their parties drew in an eccentric range of artists and actors, musicians and bankers, brokers and broadcasters, and (of course) professional ping pong players and everyone in between. Bricklin and Raharinosy joined forces with retired investment banker and former tennis pro, Andrew Gordon, to launch SPIN’s flagship location on Park Avenue in New York City in the summer of 2009. Situated below the historical L&C Tower in the heart of Downtown Nashville, Ophelia's offers signature pizza pies, classic Italian entrée's, specialty cocktails and one of a kind dessert experiences. "When we started working on the concept behind Ophelia’s Pizza + Bar, we were really inspired by the classic Shakespearean tragedy, Hamlet,” says Patrick Whalen, co-owner of the 5th Street Group.“ We wanted to reimagine European dining traditions and bring it to downtown Nashville's dynamic atmosphere." The menu focuses on Italian inspired cuisine created by Chef Partners Jamie Lynch and Adam Hodgson utilizing imported Italian ingredients as well as local Nashville products. Chef Jamie boasts an impressive culinary background including Le Cirque, Aureole and Café Boulud. Since opening Church and Union Charlotte in 2012, he has been recognized as Charlotte Magazine’s Best Chef 5 separate times.
