L'hôtel Marmont est situé en plein cœur de la plus belle ville de la Méditerranée, Split, qui est fière de son vieux centre, le palais de Dioclétien, vieux de 1700 ans, un site unique classé au patrimoine mondial sous la protection de l'UNESCO. Le grand empereur romain Dioclétien a étudié très méticuleusement toute la côte de la Dalmatie, avant de choisir l'endroit idéal pour son palais.
