Has your hotel taken steps to reduce single-use plastics, such as removing plastic straws (except upon request for guests with disabilities), stirrers and cotton buds? If yes, please provide detail as to the steps you have taken to reduce single use plastics?
Yes, Trailborn Grand Canyon employs a targeted waste elimination and diversion strategy, integrated into our operations to minimize environmental impact in the sensitive Southwest ecosystem. We prioritize source reduction by eliminating single-use plastics through reusable glassware and bamboo utensils in guest rooms, Camp Hall meetings, and dining at Miss Kitty’s Steakhouse and the Canyon Taproom. Partnerships with local Arizona recyclers, such as the Northern Arizona Environmental Alliance, enable on-site sorting stations for paper, cardboard (common in event setups), and organics from F&B operations, achieving over 60% diversion rates via composting food waste for nearby community gardens. Regular audits track progress, and we offer customizable green event packages—like digital agendas to cut paper use—for corporate retreats or tour groups. This approach not only aligns with sustainable travel demands but ensures seamless, low-waste executions for planners hosting up to 200 in Camp Hall, fostering memorab

While we do not have a dedicated public report at this time, Trailborn Grand Canyon is dedicated to cultivating an inclusive culture that mirrors the diverse adventurers who explore Williams and the Grand Canyon. We prioritize hiring from local Native American and Southwestern communities, reflected in our team's storytelling around Route 66 heritage, and incorporate accessible features like braille trail maps and culturally sensitive programming into events at Camp Hall. As part of The Outdoor Collection by Marriott Bonvoy, we leverage broader resources to advance equitable practices, including training on unconscious bias for staff supporting group stays. This commitment enhances experiences for multicultural teams, weddings, or retreats. For community-focused details, see our About Us page: https://www.trailborn.com/about/. We value input from planners and agents to refine our approach.
