It is a large-scale site-based museum built on the site of the world-renowned "Dashanpu Dinosaur Fossil Group Site". It is known as the "Eastern Dragon Palace". The fossil specimens in the museum almost cover all the known dinosaur species of the Jurassic period, and it is one of the three major dinosaur site museums in the world.

The Shenhai Well in Zigong is the world's first well over one kilometer deep. It was dug in the Qing Dynasty and is a living fossil of ancient drilling techniques in China. The scenic area has completely preserved the traditional well salt production process, allowing visitors to view physical remnants such as cranes and water wheels, and experience the impact of ancient salt-making methods. It is both a national key cultural relic protection unit and an excellent window for understanding the history of the Zigong salt industry.
