Located in South Delhi, Qutub Minar is the world’s tallest brick tower with a height of 72.5 metres (237.8 ft). It was built by Qutb-ud-din Aibak in 1192 to mark the victory of Mohammad Ghori over the Rajputs but is believed to have been finished by Shamsu’d-Din Iltutmish (Aibak’s successor) in early 13th century. The Tower is surrounded by other smaller tombs, a mosque and an iron pillar, considered a metallurgical marvel (it hasn’t rusted even after centuries!). A must see for visitors, The Qutub minar is one of the most prominent examples of Indo-Islamic architecture.
