Overlooking the stunning blue waters of the Hamilton Harbour sits the Grand Dame of Bermuda resorts, Hamilton Princess & Beach Club. Additionally, the private Princess Beach Club sits on the south shore of Bermuda. Here at ‘The Pink Palace’, where history meets modern sensibility, experience Bermuda’s only luxury urban resort. Conveniently located in the city of Hamilton, Hamilton Princess & Beach Club is an urban oasis featuring beautifully appointed guest rooms; a stunning infinity edge resort pool with uninterrupted views of Hamilton Harbour; unrivaled event space, and unique water front restaurants. These include celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson's restaurant Marcus' and 1609 Bar and Restaurant, Bermuda’s only open-air dining experience situated on our new 59-berth marina. In addition, the Princess Beach club is situated on the south shore and offers the ultimate Bermuda luxury beach experience. The Hamilton Princess & Beach Club opened its doors on January 1, 1885. Bermuda had gained international recognition two years earlier in 1883 when Princess Louise, the fourth daughter of England’s Queen Victoria, visited for a winter retreat and called the island “a place of eternal spring.” Harley Trott, a leading businessman of the period and head of Trott & Cox, the steamship agents and purveyors of meat for the British military, was determined to build a hotel that would attract affluent Americans, who would summer in the Berkshires and winter in Bermuda. Other seaside resorts were being built and a “posh” hotel would likely compete with other destinations like Palm Beach. In 1939, when the world went to war, the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club was under British Censorship and home to Allied servicemen. The basement of the hotel became an intelligence center and way station where all mail, radio and telegraphic traffic bound for Europe, the U.S. and the Far East were intercepted and analyzed by 1,200 censors, before being routed to their final destination. Rumor has it that it was nicknamed “Bletchley-in-the-Tropics” after the English country house where the “Enigma” code was broken. Catch the complimentary shuttle over to the private Princess Beach Club on the south shore. The Princess Marina host water sports activities from private charters to jet ski adventures. Dine at Marcus' with breathtaking views of the harbour. Frolic with the dolphins at dockyard, golf at one of the islands top courses, explore the beaches or spend time under the deep blue exploring world class reefs and ship wrecks. The 1609 Bar and Restaurant, an open-air casual dining experience takes you out to sea as you dine out on the Harbour. Crown & Anchor Bar, Restaurant, & Terrace is the perfect place to start the day with a variety of breakfast options, lunch, and dinner, with the Bar staying open until 1am. And Marcus’, Chef Marcus Samuelsson brings his latest culinary creation to Bermuda, with open air bar, and harbour side terrace dining.
