In August of 2016, chef Laurel Burleson launched the Ugly Apple Food Cart. She has been cooking in professional kitchens since high school and has a degree in hospitality management. After cooking for several years around Chicago and Madison, she saw how much was going to waste of this fantastic Midwestern produce. She envisioned owning a cafe that focused on delicious local produce. Hence, the Ugly Apple was born. Like the story of the Ugly Duckling, the Ugly Apple might not be bought at market but can still make a beautiful fritter. We lifted off in November of 2016 and love serving the community of Madison, Wisconsin with the cart and with “Breakfast All Day” catering! Give us a call to discuss your upcoming event!

Each of our non-smoking rooms has free Wi-Fi Internet and free cable with HBO for when you are not out exploring historic Hudson, WI. Hotel amenities also include free 8-item SuperStart breakfast bonanza and on-site coin laundry. Kids 17 and under stay free with an adult at our pet-friendly hotel. If you are looking for beautiful landscapes and a challenging round of golf, the Hudson Golf Club is less than two miles away. In the winter, have fun on the slopes of Badlands Snopark. You can hike through Willow River State Park any time of year, and it is just a four-mile drive from our Super 8 Hudson, Wisconsin hotel. Be sure to see the incredible views on the St. Croix National Scenic River from Lakefront Park. If you are up for exploring, head across the Minnesota border to the Mall of America, just southwest of Saint Paul.
