Per più di 6 secoli, il destino di Francoforte è stato diretto dalle case patrizie sul Römerberg. Come la maggior parte dei suoi predecessori, la direttrice municipale vive sopra la Schwanenhalle, con una splendida vista sulla chiesa di San Paolo.
