Derkinderen kamer (1.6 on floorplan)

Dettagli sala
According to Berlage, the Beurs van Berlage was to encourage the spiritual development of people and would be a wonderful community work. Artists were put to work to decorate the Exchange center with as a central theme “the trade history of the Netherlands”. In accordance with the spirit of the times, all the artises were more or less followers of symbolism. This meant that they did not immediately reveal the significance of their work.
Antoon Derkinderen (1859 - 1925) made the stained glass windows containing 21 performances in the Berlagezaal. Derkinderen was a painter, glazier and bookbinding designer. He felt that art should be for society because art also occurs from it.
The artists are not only immortalised in the works of art that they left behind in the building, the breakout rooms in the building are also named after the masters. This room is located on the 1st floor.
