L'Ateneo rumeno (rumeno: Ateneul Român) è una sala da concerto nel centro di Bucarest, in Romania, e un punto di riferimento della capitale rumena. Inaugurato nel 1888, l'edificio circolare decorato a cupola è la sala da concerto più prestigiosa della città e sede della Filarmonica «George Enescu» e del George Enescu Festival. Lo stile generale è neoclassico, con alcuni tocchi più romantici. Di fronte all'edificio c'è un piccolo parco e una statua del poeta rumeno Mihai Eminescu. All'interno, il piano terra ospita una sala conferenze decorata grande quanto l'auditorium soprastante; nell'auditorium ci sono 600 posti a sedere in platea, il resto dei posti è collocato in 52 logge. Un affresco di 75 x 3 metri (246,1 x 9,8 piedi) di Costin Petrescu decora l'interno della parete circolare della sala da concerto. Dipinta con la tecnica dell'affresco, l'opera raffigura i momenti più importanti della storia rumena, a partire dalla conquista della Dacia da parte dell'imperatore romano Traiano e terminando con la realizzazione della Grande Romania nel 1918. Riconosciuto come simbolo della cultura rumena, l'edificio è stato iscritto nel 2007 nell'elenco dei siti del marchio del patrimonio europeo.

Il Palazzo del Parlamento (rumeno: Palatul Parlamentului), noto anche come Casa della Repubblica (Casa Republicii) o Casa del Popolo/Palazzo del Popolo (Casa Poporului), è la sede del Parlamento della Romania, situata in cima a Dealul Spirii a Bucarest, la capitale nazionale. Il palazzo raggiunge un'altezza di 84 m (276 piedi), ha una superficie di 365.000 m2 (3.930.000 piedi quadrati) e un volume di 2.550.000 m3 (90.000.000 piedi cubi). Il Palazzo del Parlamento è uno degli edifici più pesanti del mondo, con un peso di circa 4.098.500.000 chilogrammi (9,04 miliardi di libbre; 4,10 milioni di tonnellate), essendo anche il secondo edificio amministrativo più grande del mondo. (La Grande Piramide di Giza, con circa 5,75 milioni di tonnellate, è circa il 40% più pesante.) L'edificio è stato progettato e supervisionato dall'architetto capo Anca Petrescu, con un team di circa 700 architetti, e costruito in un periodo di 13 anni (1984-1997) in forme e stili architettonici neoclassici socialisti e modernisti, pensando al realismo socialista. Il palazzo fu ordinato da Nicolae Ceaușescu (1918-1989), presidente della Romania comunista e il secondo dei due capi di stato al potere nel paese dalla seconda guerra mondiale, durante un periodo in cui il culto della personalità, il culto e l'adorazione politica aumentarono considerevolmente per lui e la sua famiglia

Il Palazzo Reale (rumeno: Palatul Regal) di Bucarest, noto come Palazzo della Repubblica (rumeno: Palatul Republicii) tra il 1948 e il 1990, è un edificio monumentale situato nella capitale della Romania, in Calea Victoriei. Il palazzo nelle sue varie incarnazioni servì come residenza ufficiale dei re di Romania fino al 1947, quando il regime comunista fu insediato dopo l'abdicazione forzata di Michele I di Romania. Dal 1950, il palazzo ospita il Museo Nazionale d'Arte della Romania. La famiglia reale rumena attualmente utilizza il Palazzo Elisabeta come residenza ufficiale a Bucarest. Inoltre, il governo rumeno consente alla famiglia reale di utilizzare il Palazzo Reale in diverse occasioni. Il palazzo è la residenza reale più grande e importante del paese e contiene spazi ufficiali emblematici come la Sala del Trono, la Sala da pranzo reale e la monumentale Scalinata dei Voivodi.
