The Peninsula Manila is a landmark hotel that has been a destination in its own right since opening in 1976. There are few hotels in the capital with as rich and colorful a history as that of The Peninsula’s, where a long list of VIPs have stepped into its imposing, classic lobby—an architectural gem that best exemplifies the city’s glamorous side—and enjoyed its legendary hospitality. And true to its reputation, when Forbes Travel Guide – the gold standard in the international hospitality industry since 1958 – put out its full list of winners, The Peninsula Manila was named a Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel, the only hotel in the principal central business districts of Makati and Bonifacio Global City to make it to this coveted list. The addition of Manila to the list marked The Peninsula Hotel’s unprecedented achievement of being the first and only hotel brand to achieve the highest possible Forbes Travel Guide rating for all its ten hotels, making it a historic Perfect Ten. We have also just concluded a soft renovation of our guest rooms, which now feature a brighter, lighter palette of cool blues and grays that further complement the timeless Filipino character of the hotel. Other enhancements include Nespresso coffee machines in all our guest rooms, as well as Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology that allows you to make international calls free of charge. We have recently unveiled The Gallery Club Lounge, a luxurious new club lounge on the third floor that houses the largest collection of Philippine masters in any hotel in the country. This is our most extensive renovation in 11 years and promises to elevate the property to a new level of modern luxury. While staying at the hotel, you may also dine at any of our exceptional restaurants—award-winning Old Manila which serves Contemporary Market Cuisine, Filipino classics at our iconic Lobby, Escolta with its extensive buffet selections, or Southeast Asian specialties in Spices. Drinks can be enjoyed either in Salon de Ning or The Bar which was named one of the 50 Best Bars in the World by Forbes Travel Guide. You also have the choice of indulging in spa treatments or work out at The Peninsula Spa and Fitness Center. The Peninsula Manila is situated in the Central Business District with views over the Ayala Triangle Gardens. It is on the corners of Ayala and Makati Avenues and right at the heart of Manila’s lifestyle and entertainment hub. It is within walking distance of the city’s premier shopping and entertainment destinations—Glorietta and Greenbelt—where a wide variety of the latest and finest in international and local fashion and designer chic, arts, music, film, cuisine, jewelry and consumer electronics are available for the intrepid shopper. The hotel is 4 kilometers from Bonifacio Global City, and 9 kilometers from Ninoy Aquino International Airport. The Peninsula Manila consists of two towers. The Ayala Tower has 119 elegantly appointed guest rooms and 12 suites. The Makati Tower has 187 guest rooms and 33 suites, including the 3,966 sq ft Peninsula Suite. THE GALLERY CLUB LOUNGE Located on an expansive third floor space, the brand new, 90-seat The Gallery Club Lounge overlooks the hotel’s iconic lobby and monumental “Sunburst” sculpture. It is a spacious, elegant and private place enhanced with custom-designed tables and soft furnishings arranged in an intimate setting. Original commissioned artwork by Philippine masters will have you thinking that you’ve booked a stay at the National Museum of the Philippines. Guests can visit the lounge for a hot breakfast buffet, all-day refreshments and nibbles, The Peninsula Afternoon Tea, gourmet canapés plus an open bar stocking a curated selection of spirits and sommelier-selected wines, while enjoying live musical entertainment. Other perks include express check-in and check-out, garment pressing, complimentary local calls, and two-hour free use of the board room.
