Situated 220 km from Cape Town on the main street through Swellendam (3rd oldest town in South Africa), this 48 roomed hotel is well placed for stop-overs for visitors to the Garden Route. Visitors can stroll through the historic, 18th century town, view wild game in the Bontebok National Park, hike in the Langeberg Mountains and river-raft on the nearby Breede River. The Swellengrebel Hotel, previously known as the Commercial Hotel was Established in 1915, it was later renamed The Swellengrebel Hotel. Buffet Dinners, Cocktail Functions, Weddings, Braais, Theme Evenings and other formal and informal functions are easily catered for up to 250 guests. We have the right amount of experience and expertise to host a professional conference, with a creative environment and relaxing atmosphere. This is most important when hosting a conference.
